“If your voice held no power, they wouldn’t try to silence you.”
A lover of being physically active, Lori loves hiking, working out, and feels confident when pushing her body to do difficult things that she hasn’t done before. She values her family above all else and believes “it is important that we hold space to love others and show up as help even when they are different.” Lori is kind and open-minded, and greatly values her relationship with her close circle of friends and the relationship she shares with her adult daughter. She is the most physically and mentally fit she has felt in her life, and finds a newfound confidence in her 50s. Lori started working with a personal trainer five months before everything shut down during the Covid pandemic — then continued her health journey by going on lots of walks during shutdown (making lemonade out of lemons). She has continued this fitness habit since that time, and with the combination of her own grit and professional coaching of a personal trainer has lost weight and gained strength and endurance while feeling energized and self-assured.
“I actually feel most confident at this point in my life. I still have doubts every once in a while, but overall I think I am on a good track. I have a spectacular and supportive group of friends. My daughter and I are building a healthy adult relationship, and I feel her partner trusts me more all the time. I feel confident about my ability to do my job and in the choices I am making in my personal life. Even though I am in my 50’s I feel the most physically and mentally healthy that I have at any time in my life.”
