“When I decide to do something, I give it 100% and nothing less.”
Strong, loyal, and funny, Michelle is fiercely dedicated to everything she puts her mind to. “Unapologetically out and proud”, confident, and with a no-BS outlook on life, she gives her all to her tribe, her family, and herself.
Utilizing her mental strength and athleticism, she dedicates herself to improving, challenging, and pushing herself and others. “I teach others how to lift and move properly. I build confidence in others and build community. After helping others, I go and see what my body is capable of.”
Michelle exemplifies that turning 50 doesn’t mean you have to slow down. After a twenty-five year career in healthcare, she had a major career change that led her to fitness – a change that led her to connecting with her wife! Recently holding nine state records in powerlifting and currently retaining several, and enjoying time in competitive softball, she finds herself finally following her passion for fitness and feeling the most confident she has ever felt.
Advice to her younger self: “It does get better. You will meet some of the most amazing people who will become your tribe.”
“I feel the most confident now at this point in my life. I am finally following my passion for fitness and could not be happier.”
Since participating in this project in 2021, Michelle has achieved her Elite total in powerlifting.
